patch 8.2.4244: MS-Windows: warning from MSVC on debug build
Problem: MS-Windows: warning from MSVC on debug build.
Solution: Adjust "/opt"o options. Remove unused variables. Make variables
uppercase for consistency. (Ken Takata, closes #9647)
